Judging Process
The vigorous and robust Judging Process commences with consumer panel judging. Conducted by an independent company with over 25 years experience in this field, Cambridge Market Research ensures that respondents reflect a cross section of the UK population.
In addition to verbatim consumer response a top line report provides valuable research and will aid product optimisation and future new product development, in addition to:
- 1. An overall product rating
- 2. An innovation/relevance rating
- 3. Consumer associated product usage feedback
- 4. Overall market research verdict
The second round of judging is conducted by a specifically selected panel of industry experts all with diverse experience and ideally placed to be able to decide which products are outstanding in their field. The esteemed panel of judges include development and celebrity chefs, consumer magazine editors and industry experts with retail buying experience.

Products are judged on the set of criteria of taste, texture, appearance, packaging, value for money and clarity of labelling. Products are prepared in professional kitchens in London, where the judges factor the consumer judging scores and together with their own informed opinions select the winners for each category.
